I am excited to share that the 2nd edition of the Introduction to Investing book is now available.
The first edition focused on how to start investing. Yet, I have observed that often the most challenging part is to keep investing. Our greed, fear, and impulses often lead us to do things that aren’t in our best interests. Therefore, in this updated edition, I also share what has helped me stay the course over the years.
These learnings are important yet underrated. When starting, many worry about ETFs, brokers, and the state of the market. However, there is a broader set of issues that are significant for long-term success. I feel like we don’t talk enough about them.
This edition features two additional chapters (~40 pages) of new content:
- Chapter 7 – How to be a successful investor: This chapter explains what you can do to stay the course: savings rate, behavior, decision making, and historical context, etc.
- Chapter 8 – Practicalities of investing: This chapter answers the most frequent questions people have when investing. It also explains some of the investing routines I find useful.
Investing is a marathon and not a sprint. My goal is that this book helps you feel confident in all stages of your investment journey.
